Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 Oct 2026

This policy explains what information ToolNook (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit toolnook.com, how cookies and Google AdSense are used, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • The data you type or upload into our tools is processed in your browser and is never sent to our servers.
  • We do not require accounts and do not sell personal information.
  • We show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads, and, with your consent, to personalize them.

Information you enter into the tools

All calculators, converters, text tools, developer tools and image tools run locally in JavaScript. Numbers, text, images and files you provide are processed in your device's memory and are not transmitted to us. Some tools, such as the invoice generator, can save a draft in your browser's local storage so that it is still there when you return; that data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through the tool or your browser settings.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs when pages are requested. These logs contain your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. They are used to keep the site secure and working, to diagnose errors and to understand overall traffic, and are deleted on a rolling basis.

Contact form

If you send us a message, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list. To protect the form from abuse, we use a temporary session cookie that is deleted when you close your browser.

Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use:

  • Essential storage: your light or dark theme choice and your cookie consent choice are saved in local storage; a session cookie protects the contact form.
  • Advertising cookies: set by Google and its partners when ads are shown, as described below.

You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop the tools from working.

Google AdSense and advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

  • If you accept advertising cookies, Google may show personalized ads. If you choose “Essential only”, we ask Google to show non-personalized ads, which still use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregate reporting.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses cookies in advertising.
  • You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Legal bases and your rights

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on your consent for personalized advertising cookies and on our legitimate interest in running a secure website for server logs and contact-form messages. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California can ask what personal information is collected and request its deletion; we do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children

Our site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Our pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
